I didn’t really like green beans before my grandma made these for me and now I am totally a green bean lover.

The almond and onion mixture
1 lb. green beans, with the end cut off
3 Tab butter
2/3 cup slivered almonds
1 small onion
1/2 tea salt
Cut the ends off the green beans the stick in a pot a boiling water (this is called blanching) 5-7 min or until tender. When the green beans are done remove from the water and add to a bowl of ice cold water (this is called shocking). Then add the butter, almonds, onion and salt to a large skillet and cook on low heat until the onions are lender and the almonds are slightly brown.Then add the green beans to the almond mixture stir well and enjoy.
