About/Contact

Hi, my name is Liza, and I am 13 years old.  I live in Chicago.  I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters, so the house is always crazy.  Crazy but fun.  My brothers and sisters are always sampling my baking experiments.  My mom taught me to cook and bake when I was 6 years old. Ever since then, it’s been my passion. I read cookbooks for fun and watch the Cooking Channel for TV time.  I also love photography, playing my violin and, soccer, water skiing ect. I started a blog so that I could continue one of my favorite hobbies, take pictures, share some of my original recipes, and recipes I have loved and collected. I also started blogging because I loved the idea of incorporating my big family into many of my posts and also my cooking style.

Soup and snails

Where dose the name soup and snails come from you ask? Well, me and my mom where going through a crises trying to think of a name, and we where looking through every cookbook we could find to get some inspiration to come up with one. I love soup because me and my dad started making soup every sunday night and then we started to become crazy soup fans, and mom was looking through a cook book that had a snail some ware on it, so mom cried out,”soup and snails” and we all just loved it.

  1. Well done, Liza. I am looking forward to all that you have to share and can’t wait to see where your passion and creativity take you. Many exciting culinary adventures await!

  2. Love this, Liza!!! How did you come up with the name Soup and Snails? You should write a little paragraph about that. People would love to hear! I’ll be sure and share this with Bethany, Anna and Katherine. They’ll enjoy seeing what you’ve created and trying some of the recipes out themselves!

  3. LIZA. This is wonderful!!! You’ve done a great job, and I can’t wait to see all of your delicious creations!

  5. Wow Liza, Your gramps (Isch) (my brother) told me about your blog. I am really impressed. Such a great idea. You know, my granddaughter, Ava, loves to bake and is always coming up with new ideas. She is your 2nd cousin and is in 6th grade. You met her a couple of times but you probably don’t remember. Bet you would be good friends. I’m going to send this link to her. Tell your mom and dad I love them!

I love your recipes on your blog. I also play the guitar. Heres a few things about myself, I love playing guitar, doing anything outdoors, riding horses, and being with animals. When I grow up I want to be a Vet.

  7. What a wonderful blog you have here! We loved the caramels. 🙂 I think we’re going to try your PB&J in the waffle maker idea.

  8. Liza, I LOVE your blog! I plan to try some of your recipes. The pound cake looks really good! If I had a waffle iron, I would try the PBJ sandwich. Keep up the good work.

  9. Liza, your blog is fun and has superb recipes. My name is Rosemary. You might remember me as Rosie, or you might not remember me at all. But, we were in kindergarten together (go Serio Stars!) and my dad was talking to your dad on the phone and he told my dad about your blog and I have been super exited to look at it! I have not tried out any of the recipes yet, but I am sure I will. I already have your blog bookmarked on my computer! Sorry if I am boring you to death with this super-long reply. I hope you actually get this because your last comment was from June (!). So anyway, see you in middle school and I hope we are on the same team. P.S. Tell your family I say hi!

    Rosie
